Monsoon has already started in India, and the excitement of drinking warm tea on your balcony with your plants is a dream of many people. These tiny moments make life more beautiful, and I’m kinda a plants person, so the urge to see flowers on my balcony is always exciting for me. I grow lots of flowering plants on my terrace too, to have a green terrace with fragrance.
Having lots of experience, I’m welcoming all the plant parents to share some of the flowering plants that you must grow this monsoon :
RAIN LILY:

As the name suggests, rain lily is a flowering plant that blooms only in the rainy season. It comes in four colors: white, yellow, pink, and light pink.
My suggestion: always store rainwater in a bucket to get flowers even on sunny days after the monsoon.
SADABAHAR PLANT :

Sadabahar, which means ‘evergreen’. Sadabahar is a plant with flowers in all months. The flowers of this are simple yet beautiful. They come in different colors, including pink, light pink, maroon, red, purple, white, etc.
My suggestion: Make a drainage hole below the pot, as the sadabahar plant grows well in a drainage pot.
10 O’CLOCK PLANT:

Also called ‘dasbajiya’ in northern India, is a beautiful shrubby plant. It grows very fast and makes your terrace corner look beautiful. The flowers of this plant come in different hues, including orange, red, pink, Bulgarian rose pink, white, and yellow.
My suggestion: Make a hanging pot of all different colors of plants in a single pot. It looks so charming and beautiful.
PORTULACA PLANT:

Also known as 7 o’clock, this too comes in different colors. It grows very fast and makes a corner look fuller and more beautiful.
My suggestion: grow two colors of portulacas in a single pot. Soon, it will look like a beautiful bouquet.
GLOBE AMARANTH:

Also known as amaranth, it is a 365-day flowering plant. It comes in three colors pink, white, and fuchsia pink. These flowers are like tiny velvet balls, they look beautiful.
My suggestion: The flowers of this plant attract bees and pollinators. Keeping dry flowers forget the sea, similar to seeds.
MARIGOLD PLANT:

Every Indian is aware of this plant. I must say, it not only attracts pollinators but also makes your terrace look beautiful. They come in different colors and patterns.
My suggestion: scatter all dried flowers in different pots, after the rain, your plants will multiply in numerous plants.

APRAJITA:

Who does not know about it? This one is considered a holy plant in Hinduism. Apraajita comes with blue and white, two different colors, which look charming. The blue flower enhances the look of the terrace.
My suggestion: The plant grows fast in the rainy season, keep the desired shape to this plant by adding wire.
Although all plants grow fast in the rainy season, the above-mentioned plants not only grow fast but also bloom. They do not require any extra nutrition, and they grow well in poor soil too. Additionally, they look beautiful and peaceful. What else does a plant parent need beyond that?
Happy gardening! 🙂
