Sometimes I get bored with my usual routine, so I try to do something interesting. Since I love to explore facts that seem curious to me, from that experience, I’m sharing some of my activities to do when you get bored, here we go:
Try a new recipe

cooking is a basic life skill, and to get better taste, we always look for something tastier. If you are getting bored you can try a new recipe.
Do fabric paint

I don’t know if 90s kids remember it or not, but fabric paint is a nostalgia for me. In childhood, we had some kind of peaceful afternoon when my mother and aunt used to do fabric painting. We used to learn from them. They used to do paintings on table covers, fridge covers, pillow covers, sarees and sometimes made wall hanging paintings. Later, when my sister and I grew up, we used to make paintings in our free time. This is one of my favourite hobbies.
Grow a new plant

I’m a plant person, and I suggest everyone should plant. The green terrace and balcony filled with colorful flowers not only enhance your mood but also look beautiful. Never waste seeds, collect them and grow some beautiful plants on your terrace, balcony or even on any fertile ground.
Make kitchen clothes from used cotton clothes

I use old cotton clothes to make kitchen clothes. I make my own cheesecloth, cleaning cloth, and other useful cloths. Many people have questions about whether used clothes are made from the bleaching and dying process, and whether they are good for kitchen use.
Yes, they are, but not in that way, for making your own clothes for kitchen purposes, you too have to go through a process. Consider those clothes that are washed multiple times and whose color or other prints have faded away. After getting this, soak the cloth in a bowl of warm water, add a pinch of baking soda, salt and lemon. Soak for at least two hours and dry in full sunlight. Now you’ve your own kitchen clothes.
Store rainwater

Rainwater is considered the best water for plants, washing clothes and others. Additionally, it is a sustainable way to store it for multiple uses. If you’re getting bored on a rainy day, you must do that.
Make your own face wash

It’s better to make your own homemade face wash instead of relying on a commercial one. If you’ve time, do that.
Make a flower potpourri

Not for anyone, but yourself, once in a lifetime get some flowers and make a flower potpourri, light some fragrance diya. This will make your room smell like heaven. ‘A kind of soothing moment.’
Learn a new skill

Try to learn a new skill or course. Join any site, or sign up for any course on platforms like Udemy, Coursera, or YouTube.
Read your favourite novel

I am a big fan of reading books, but I always postponed it, thinking priorities should be given to the present work, but the thing is, it goes on. If you really want to explore your hobbies, always do them in your free time.
Gain some knowledge about earlier tectonic plates

It’s better to delve into the history of our tectonic plates instead of scrolling through reels mindlessly. Believe me, you’ll never regret doing that. It’s kind of interesting to know about the Earth’s tectonic shifts. Read about that.
Learn about prehistoric paintings

A human in their lifetime can explore different kinds of paintings. If you’re fond of art and culture, immerse yourself in some earlier paintings of history and you’ll get to know how our ancestors used to do the arts.
Know your finances

Learn the concept of investing, saving, and spending mindfully. Read some articles related to that.
Know the basics of yog

Invest in some of the best books of yog, you’ll never regret later.
Learn the concept of breathing exercises

The methods of doing breathing exercises, aka pranayama, are quite interesting yet complex. To know more about it, read some great books.
