Email :74

In the previous article, we discussed some of the natural alternatives of plastic products. This is part 2 of that discussion. Here, we will know more about how to avoid plastic products mindfully.

NATURAL FABRICS

In this context, opting for natural fabrics is a standard choice. People should invest their money in natural fabrics. Some synthetic fabrics are polyester, acrylic, crepe, microfiber, etc. They contain plastics and other chemicals. These types of clothes are not good for the skin as they release microplastics, don’t absorb sweat, and cause itchiness to the body.
Go for natural fabrics like 100% organic cotton, linen, jute, khadi cotton and others.
Never purchase the items that recommend cotton blend since they contain plastic mixed with cotton fabrics.

BEESWAX OR SOYWAX FOR CANDLES

Common candles are usually made of paraffin wax. Paraffin wax, a byproduct of petroleum, relates to plastic because both come from oil, a non-renewable fossil fuel. When burned, paraffin candles release toxic chemicals, like benzene and toluene. It also releases greenhouse gases, contributing to indoor air pollution, respiratory issues, and climate change. The burning of paraffin also releases particulate matter, which can worsen asthma and bronchitis. In contrast to that, Both soy wax and beeswax are safe and natural alternatives to paraffin, with soy wax offering a cleaner burn, being biodegradable, while beeswax is a natural purifier that emits negative ions to clean the air.

BAMBOO TOOTHBRUSH AND HAIRCOMB

Go for bamboo toothbrushes and hair comb instead of plastic products. Bamboo products are all natural, bio-degradable, and better for environment in comparison to plastic one. Moreover, they are safe for human body. While, plastic brushes and combs are not eco-friendly options.

WHY BAMBOO PRODUCTS ARE BETTER THAN OTHER WOODEN PRODUCTS?

Bamboo products are more environmentally friendly than wooden items. Bamboo grows much faster. It absorbs more carbon dioxide, requires less energy to process, and regenerates without replanting. these points make it a renewable resource that helps mitigate deforestation and climate change.
